For the first time in a long time, I actually agree almost 100% with a trendy magazines "Top" anything. Insane amount of kudos for "Jason X" at the top. I have held that scene in high, high regard ever since I saw the movie.
Good calls, all around. Shame the Resident Evil laser grater didn't make it on there, though.
That's a nice list, though the F13 deaths could be easily bumped off for some better ones. Hell, there were much better F13 deaths than the one they showed from Part 3.
It surprises me how informed Maxim is of horror. They're the ones that said Hitchcock couldn't have done a better job with Dark Water.
For those that don't feel like watching all of the clips (I'd rather have read a list):
10. The Evil Dead - When Ash gauges Scotty's eyes out and pulls the stick out of his torso.
9. Hellraiser II - When the guy tries to cut the bugs off him and Julia comes out of the mattress.
8. Day of the Dead - When Bub shoots Captain Rhodes and the zombies rip him in half.
7. Friday the 13th Part 3 - When Jason slices the guy between his legs when walking around on his hands.
6. Dead Alive - When Lionel mows the zombies.
5. Scanners - When the guy's head explodes.
4. Zombie 2 - When a zombie pulls a woman's head, shoving her eye into a sharp piece of wood.
3. The Thing - When the guy's stomach bites the man's hands off and Kurt Russell fries the Thing.
2. City of the Living Dead - When a guy gets a drill through the head.
1. Jason X - The liquid nitrogen death.
I think it's painfully obvious which two of the movies I haven't seen.
There are better deaths than that in horror movies imo.
1. Gutting from pelvis to throat in Candyman
2. Farmer impaled in groin and arms/legs by rusty corn tools in Children of the Corn 4
3. Asian kids death by about 8 vampires in From Dusk Till Dawn
4. Skin ripping by razor chains in Hellraiser
5. Bloke annihilated by round chainsaw in Haute Tension
6. Fire Extinguisher face bashing in Irreversible
7. Decapitation via oxycetalene bottle in Street Trash
8. Any death in Predator
9. The forced acid swallowing death in 2001 Maniacs
10. The guts out the ass death in the pressure chamber in Men Behind The Sun
