I'm no big fan of the matrix franchise, but at least these guys are comics fans. V for Vendetta gets my vote as the finest comic book ever produced. Starkly political and literary combined with a cracking and often scary murder/mystery/revenge tale.
if there sa forum son this pease tell me i just saw a trailer for this movie and it looks really cool it has Natile portman and its directed by the Wachoskie brothers (the matrix). i dont really know alot about this guy or comic if you can please give me a better insite on it please
Its very complicated and many things in the comic seem more symbolic than realistic. But basically its set in this controlled socialist society where freedom is a foolish idea of the past and gays and blacks have all been killed off. V is a mysteriouse man who hides in a mask and is basically trying to break the system down to its knees to create anarchy, or in his mind "true freedom". The comic (which is brillianly written i might add) shows breaf glimpses of V's life that bring clues to his identity throughout the entirety of of the book. But I don't want to give to much away so jusst read it to yourself.
I believe that there is a good website out there. Just type inthe title at google.

V can't be done well as it was about where Moore thought Thatchers britain could go. Thatchers Britian went but not where Uncle Alan thought, thank god. Any version on film will bear little resemblance to Moores work and probably the best we can hope for is it ending up looking "moore" like 1984 or Brazil.
If anyones for any Moore and I don't mean Roger lets see Miracleman
Keep the faith

The reason it was pushed back is because they needed more post production time, which is a good thing. You see they were working hard to have the movie ready by November, and then they realize they neede more time. I rahter have them take their time working on the movie than to have them rush to finish everything and have by November and then it sucks. So if it means it is going to take a little longer for the movie to come out, then I am all for it. So do not be discourage because it was pushed back.

Re: You F***ing Basterd
I'm on it because I read V when it first came out and understand it was about homegrown facism in the UK as a result of Thatcherite policies taken to their extreme. It has nothing to do with the second world war and will be as poor as Constantine was when scriptwriters messed it up. The time of V is 15 years ago, not now. Thatcher went and so did the point of V.

Where is your post in regard to the movie? Oh, the irony...
I saw the trailer for this the other day. It looks interesting, but i don't hold much hope about the Wachowskis' involvement; Matrix 2 & 3 were utter garbage. I like the ethos behind the comic though...

go to the Movie Discussion. maybe you'd see it. but to save you the trip i'll post a reply so it ont seem too "ironic."
I think the movie will be great. I enjoyed the Matrix films i love Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving.
But im not going to say, "yeah i love this, i love that, i love everything, the movie ging to be perfect" cuz im a look worried about the changes in the script and sum of the people on the cast.
I have nothing against them, but Im not sure about the guy playing Gordan (gd I forgot his name) just considering the scenes with Evey. What is his name, he played in Wilde.. oh well he's cool in all but i hope there's not a sex scene...
I love the way they maybe the shots in the movie look actually like the comic book. like the prison scene and the man talking has the shadow face. WOO HOO!!
Everyone keeps telling, that the W Bros are going to make it look great but i havent really seen many movies they had, just Matrix..
