Use someone like Metamorpho, who can become any one of the elements. Then have him use his powers to....I dunno...solve chemistry problems or apply it in the real world like a chemist superhero.

Or write a comic where you have the HOTU or IG, then just re-write physics and chemistry, and describe the changes in the process.
