For molecule man to lose...
1. this would have to be mm where he self-imposed the restrictions on organic things...
2. Dr. strange would have to use his telepathic abilities on mm... since almost anything physical would be instantly transmuted or destroyed by mm...
3. Dr. Strange would need the assistance of the Ancient one, or other upper level entities willing to interefere (dr. Strange is a deus ex machina who tends to use beings like eternity, chaos, order, etc to pull off his feats... without it... summoning only the normal magics that he does he would lose.
mm 8/10 in normal circumstances. instantaneous abilities... vs.. casting spells.

actually its an "arena fight" and there are certain rules and stipulations about arena fights... dr. strange could go off to the astral plane sure, but then Strange's physical body would be left helpless... if mm kills the physical boyd strange dies with it... its the reason why strange only goes to the astral plane from the safety of his own home... iwth all the protection wards about it and wong to wake him in case of emergency.
... so really mm doesn't need to bother with the astral plane, he just needs the physical body. and if strange did go astral, he'd be screwed and defenseless.
