I was wondering ... is this true?

This was published this month, it's actually dated for Jan. 1 08'

(please log in to view the image)

And if so, how exactly did Hercules go about doing that?

Does anyone have the issue this took place in, or was it an off-panel feat?

I can't picture a normal sized being holding up a planet with pure strength,
not because of the lack of it, but because of the practical reasons.
Unless of course, Herc can increase in size (I never knew he could)

Thanx yall.

That looks like a Marvel Adventures (the Avengers) comic. It has spiderman, storm, hulk, captain america on the team so thats what I am guessing at least.

Didn't Captain Marvel also recently lift the entire Earth or something?

I'm pretty sure thats a feat the "real" Herc performed. The writer was probably just trying to give a nod to Greek mythology.

Had to edit out the full issue scans. But I left the issue number. Anyway, take it to the questions thread if there's a further need.
