Respect the legendary Solid Snake! The man that makes the impossible possible.
Solid Snake (please log in to view the image)
Solid Snake is a combination spy and special operations agent who works for FOXHOUND, a fictional black ops and espionage unit. He is repeatedly entrusted with disarming and destroying the latest incarnation of the Metal Gear, a bipedal, nuclear-weapon-armed mecha.
In each game, Solid Snake must act alone, supported via radio by commanding officers and specialists. He enters armed only with his wits, his two-way radio (called the "codec" in later games), binoculars, and a pack of cigarettes, and must acquire all additional equipment (such as weapons, rations, or his signature cardboard box disguise) on site.

These are some of Snake's fights during the events of Shadow Moses--Metal Gear Solid/MGS Twin Snakes
Solid Snake vs Cyborg Ninja round 1
Snake vs Cyborg Ninja round 2
Solid Snake vs M1 Tank driven by Vulcan Raven
Snake vs Hind D piloted by Liquid Snake--who took down 2 F16s in it
The man is a beast. On paper he has no super human abilities, but you can clearly see the paper is underestimating him.

Solid Snake is seen as a legendary soldier (Meryl is awestruck upon meeting him in MGS). His character, who was relatively fresh faced in the early Metal Gear games has become gradually gruffer and more disillusioned. He denies being a hero, stating that he has never fought for anyone but himself. However after the events of Shadow Moses, Snake becomes somewhat a national hero, much to the chagrin of The Patriots. The killing of his father Big Boss seems to have had little effect on him, other than to further distance from his superiors, possibly the reason for his retirement.
Snake is described as a 'living legend' and seems to be something of a myth to the world of mercenaries and even the public. However after Shadow Moses his existence was confirmed and he became a national hero. Something which was to become a disadvantage when he formed Philanthropy with his partner Otacon. His skills in urban warfare are unmatched, most likely a result of him being a clone of the greatest soldier ever known (Big Boss), who Snake actually defeated in battle (however Big Boss was in his 50's by that point and past his best, but still formidable).
Snake tries to distance himself from people "I have never been interested in other peoples' lives". He finds other people a burden, but still seems to fight for them on a regular basis, often rescuing the weak and helpless.

Snake meets Olga Gulukovich in the Tanker during MGS2
Note how he casually evades her bullet. Then he tranquilizes her ass ROFL.
Solid Snake using the Stealth camo and bungie jumping during the intro of MGS2: Sons of Liberty. Too bad the landing ruined the camo. Nah not really. Snake does not need it.

Snake takes on Lady Luck(Fortune) to buy Raiden time
"You want eternal rest? I've got it right here."
My god Snake is too ****ing
Snake breaks some handcuffs that have been tightened by a bullet deflected by Solidus Snake. Afterwards he chases after Liquid-Ocelot who is piloting Metal Gear Ray.
"She IS lady luck."
Yes...he is awesome.

He actually looks very weak. That is the idea. He looks weak, but his mind was strong. He can read and control minds, he can cast illusions as you can see when he started to light the room on fire. He can evade bullets. Fire psionic blasts, he can turn himself invisible. He can lift numerous objects at the same time and use them as weapons or shields.
For good reason, not only is he 100% badass, he hasn't been in a bad game, fights and kills enemies who should be way beyond him, and at the same time seems to have a thing going on with that woman.
4. Old Snake vs The Beast of Beasts Screaming Mantis
[Best Boss Fight Ever IMO]
This is such a hard fight for Snake for a number of reasons:
1. Mantis can partially control his movements and none of Snake's guns can harm her.
2. He has to protect himself from Meryl who is being mind controlled by Mantis while he has to stop her from blasting her brains all over the place.
3. Mantis is using the FROG corpses previously killed like puppets against Snake.
4. Mantis has a wide arsenal of knives along many other unexpected tricks.
Screaming Mantis defeated...

And that is it for today folks!

Not only does Solid Snake beat Vamp, but he makes him mortal again.
---
Old Snake demonstrates his phenomenal willpower as he makes his way through a giant microwave to get to JD...even after everything he had been through.
After defeating Raging Raven, Snake encounters Liquid Ocelot and the two fight, Snake loses...but he shows determination as he continues to struggle even when it is pointless.
---
Snake's final throwdown with Liquid Ocelot. Be warned...this is epic and badass beyond belief.
Don't say I didn't warn ye.
---
Oh and Snake was doing all this shit in an aged body that had 6 months of life in it....go figure.

i know that. i saw that part of the ending.
"this is good, isn't it?"
saddest f--king thing but at least Big Boss came full circles to being a good guy again and made his peace with his life
