AM at his peak is simply above Nekron. If anyone has any actual argument that states otherwise, id like to hear it (i doubt there is one, though). Best feat for Nekron was in a pre-crisis GL story (which remained canon post crisis) where he empowered Krona to be able to gradually destroy the universe.....which still isn't enough to defeat a peak AM.
Well, consider this: Aside from the fact that the Spectre was amped (to a point where he was more powerful than the Voice; while the Voice was not The Presence back then, it was most certainly a high end multiversal entity), Spectre (without any power ups) was so powerful at the time of COIE that even after the battle in his extremely weakened state, a fraction of The Spectre was destroying the universe in the JLA/JSA special (a little later after the crisis), and the other part was battling the Great Evil Beast in Swamp Thing v2 #50. (not to mention that pre-crisis Spectre had feats such as summoning the energies of a hundred universes while being at half power). Yet, Spectre wasn't enough to defeat Anti Monitor (proving that AM was above multiversal beings). That tells me that he has more than enough power to handle Nekron. Don't try using the Spectre whom Nekron faced in Blackest Night because they're not comparable.
Also tell me something: do you actually believe that a peak AM has the kind of low showings that Nekron has (i can name them if you want)? Because that's a big part of the reason why AM wins this.
They're not on the same levels. Don't let your preference for a character cloud your judgment.

Now that i think of that's kind of relevant. But it's also worth mentioning: Given what Captain Atom achieved a few issues later, it may be a bit less humiliating.
In Underworld Unleashed, Fate and Alan (with the green flame) owned him pretty badly (literally pushed him into the rift and destroyed it):
Like I said, how is any of this applicable to AM beating Nekron?
MAGIC IMMUNE Fate being hurled into Nekron, pushing him back to his dimension while Alan Scott seals the rift is a low showing? That's like saying Black Alice owning Spectre is a low showing for Spectre.
Universe creating CA absorbs energy from Nekron and BFRing him means what to AM?
