Catch how?
Having the shield thrown AT him or catching the shield after throwing it?

Punisher came to mine. He caught Cap's shield on his rifle barrel, spyn the momentum put of it then dropped it to the ground.
Hawkeye was able to catch it after throwing it.
Not sure which scenario we're talking here though.

Cap throwing it as hard as he can.

No one below Spider-Man. Everyone else gets sliced in half, if Captain America is serious about the shield throw:

And the only reason Spider-Man would be able to catch it are his super powers: spider-sense, super speed and super strength.

Depends on who is throwing it. The Hulk should be the new Captain America
If Captain America is throwing it, Winter Soldier would likely be the weakest, but that would be because of his prosthetic arm. So I would say the Vision due to durability.

I think a very skilled street level char can do it, redirecting the force of the throw in a circular move.

I think that the OP means to just catch it, as in no sell a full powered throw from Captain America. No street level character is going to do this.

I've seen Taskmaster catch it.
I guess Tasky would be the weakest since he is only suppose to have peak human strength.

When did Captain America ever come across as a murderer? If he threw his shield with the same amount of strength that he did when he wrecked that tank, I highly doubt that a street level would have an arm left after trying to catch it.

I doubt Cap was holding back against Deadpool and Red Skull. Beast has superhuman strength, coordination, balance, and agility so he should be able to do that. Taskmaster has studied Cap moves and has traded blows with him. His skill set would allow him to catch that.
And street leveler characters do things all the time that they shouldn't going strictly by power-set. Routinely out-reacting bullets fired from automatic weapons at close range for example. Just because you don't want to accept it doesn't mean it didn't happen on panel.

certainly we aren't implying that cap throws his shield with tank-busting force every single time he hurls it at an enemy, right? that's ridiculous, imo.
deadpool, for example, is not going to just...palm a shield-throw that could have decimated a tank. how strong/durable do you people think he is for god's sake?

Some of these crazy guys might even think it's dumb for Cap's shield to decimate a tank, fancy that.
But yeah, obviously that hand's supposed to be flying.

i'm just saying that if we are calling the tank-buster his 'most powerful throw'(which is what the stips of this thread are), then obviously the scene in which deadpool palmed a throw wouldn't qualify.

Yeah it should kill most of the 'redirect force in a circular motion' theories also.
