Sidious senses their arrival, takes Padme hostage, and then hides in seclusion until he masters Force Storms and essence transfer as he threatens to kill Padme as soon as he senses Anakin's or the Son's arrival. Then, he creates an army of his children with high level force sensitivity (Padme had to be useful at some point).
