How does strange usually beat him? Like Mind said, on average Dormammu should win, but no reason Fate can't replicate anything Strange has done.

This. Though Strange is IMHO slightly above Kent Fate in magic, Kent's physical powers (which have no baring here) and straight energy/matter manipulation make up for that edge making them equal. Stange has beaten Dormammu by draining power from his dark dimension. Fate as a go to tactic drains energy from those he fights so it is playable. The thing is Stephen has never drained Dorm's directly, but his sources. Directly draimimg is what I see Kent doing. If he does I can see Dorms resisting that pretty quick
