I don't think casual gamers are a problem at all Rob. I think these discord "crews" who stay up all night feed into the ****wit stereotype for this kind of "living on line" loser with discordhugbox. I also think the making youtube videos is usually an indicator of weirdness and attention seeking at best, active grooming is probably going on tbh. Bingo indeed!

sometimes I wonder how the US military misses these red flags, then I remember just how big it is. They can't get it right everytime. It would be impossible.
When it comes to intelligence departments, they should vet every single person down to their daily routines and do yearly reviews. Obviously their private info should be kept private. If someones has a problem with that, then the intelligence department is not for them. Would likely help weed out traitors.
This 21yo started his Far-Right Discord echo chamber back in 2020, shortly before or after Trump was elected., so there's at least 3 or so years of red flags the military could have been tracking and assessing.
While some servers definitely are Right-wing cesspools, Discord itself isn't inherently Right or Left. I use Discord frequently (as it's super convenient for quickly connecting with friends in other countries) and am active on a dozen or so servers, and the vast majority of the people on the servers I use lean strongly to the Left and many of those servers are, in fact, safe spaces for marginalised communities.

the ability to keyword search all discord sites would be helpful. really nothing less than complete transparency of the whole platform would work imho. just because you're on a discord for exchanging dessert recipes with sweet little old ladies, does not negate the fact that unmonitored criminal/terrorist coordinated activities are obviously taking place.on discord. f*ck everyone's "freedom" nobody has the right to hide out in a terrorist group to plot a next attack and/or treason.
