i have tons of people i like from jack cole and lou fine to carmine infantiono and frank cho...as for writer the same my tastes range from bill finger and gardner fox to denny o'neil and joe kelly..and of course stan lee..
my favorite artists would probably be joe quesada (sword of azrael was awesome), john romita and john romita jr (JJR makes some pretty stylish stuff) and sal buscema from some spectacular s-mans from the early nineties. frank miller's good as well. (his daredevil and batman stuff is )
denny o'neil and tom defalco are probably my favorite writers
those last two were COMIC BOOK writers. my favorite novelist is probably michael crichton
if you ever get the chance, pick up a copy of sphere. very good
I don't really like any of Crichton's recent works, although I have to say that sphere was a really good one. My fav Crichton book has to be the Andromeda Strain

1. Alan Moore: the writer from "From Hell", "The League of extra-ordinary gentlemen", "Top 10", "V for Vendetta", "The Killing Joke" and of course the great "Watchmen".
2. Frank Miller: a true genius, just look at Sin-City or "The Dark Knight returns" or "Hard Boiled".
3. Stan Lee: Marvel would look completely different if he weren't there.
4. Jack Kirby: not the greatest artist ever, but still a good one, and he was responsible for the looks of lots of known superheroes.
5. John Byrne: always good fun to read. And his stories aren't too bad either.
6. John Romita jr: again, a great artist
7. Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes)
and for the others I forget: sorry guys, but you also rock !!
