Looks cool but whoopie do, something faster until something else thats even faster comes out. Its one vicious cycle.
I do like how it combats piracy which would be a new thing consdering its very easy to do that on the regular Playstation's. Its similiar to what Nintendo did with GC, which for my knowledge cant be pirated at all, or very well.
well.. if they DO something with it instead of just bragging about it.. then its a nice thing.. if they just sit there and go "OMFG it calculates 9 quadrillion polys a sec" then it was a waste of everyones time and money
basically its a bunch of connected processors that have the capability of distributing processing power where necessary, or each taking their own task (sound, graphics, calculations)
wow thats impressive, but then again so was the mumbo jumbo microsoft fed to us with there technical babble, and what did we get? nothing special. Ps3 and xbox 2 is not going to be anything ground breaking or innovative. Just better graphics, and smoother gameplay. nothing more.

better graphics.. not really better gameplay.. until someone starts using their brain and comes up with something original.. like the way mario 64 redefined a genre.. I love that kinda stuff
Of course the gameplay is going to be better. Maybe not innovative, but response times are going to be alot more smooth. More memory should allow for new aspects of gameplay aswell. Ps2 changed gameplay from Ps1. It took a while but there is a change, especially in game interfaces. What ever technical improvments come from the new generation consoles, i highly doubt that the full potential will be embraced untill mid life if ever. Xbox hasnt even focused on it's depths, mainly because of money, but why make a system that can do somthing no one else can, and just forget about it. I see alot more Pc elements introduced into console gamming aswell, which is kind of sadening.
