The only way Doom/Richards can win is if they can come up with some way to block Prof. X's telepathy. If they can they win easily. So the debate is basically if D/R can block telepathy in 72 hours or not.

It's already been done, they can both easily come up with telepathy blocking items (and I believe they both already have them), and it wouldn't matter anyway. Doom has been shown to block out telepathy on his own before. May not help Reed, but it doesn't matter, Doom will be plotting against Reed also.
Anyway, Reed and Doom are both on a totally different intellectual plane than Batman and Xavier combined. And remember that Reed and Doom's team are the only ones with mystical knowledge here.
