 The Phantom Stranger
There seems to be quite a confusion lately with this character. As of now during the Blackest Night event PS is becoming more and more intriguing. Well, for those of you who do not comprehend the character well...I will help explain and hopefully others will contribute.
So please...stop using the character for vs matches agaisnt Thor, Odin, and Spiderman....
Briefly, who is Phantom Stranger?

The most apply theory used by readers is that PS is an actual Guardian Angel for Superheroes. He was there when Lucifer fell, and try to persuade him from rebelling. PS serves to guide lost souls into the Divine path.
Long time readers of DC know PS didn't started all power and stuff...but that also applies to other characters in comics. He first was a ghost that disprove charlattans...but during that crusade agaisnt bad guys, the writers always indicated PS was meant to be something "above" mystical and more into a "divinity". Like any other character PS has evolved and what makes him so interesting...is that his past has never been explain (but that is not to be confuse with that shit of Wolverine Origins...this is more fascinating rather than fanboyish)
Yes, PS contributed to defeat of the Anti-Montior in COIE with the help of other mages but never went H2H with AM like The Spectre did.
Speaking of The Spectre....PS has fought Spectre, but he was never destroyed nor defeated. Rather, he was transformed or alter in some way by the Spectre to avoid further confrontaion.
As debated in other places. PS became practically the inspiration for Marvel's The Watcher. So if you want to get technical with Odin fight matches...just picture Uathu vs Odin.
So, this is open for debate...please...stop using PS as he is some low level mage like Felix Faust.
When a Crisis happens....PS will be there.

I understand. I don't participate in any debates about the Phantom Stranger, because his power level is still unquantifiable. And being near the Spectre's level in importance, he is some notches over a sky-father like Odin.

There are very few characters that feature great feats and all....but I think that is more of "showing off" to prove their tough. PS always has that cool helpful personality...really someone you wish it would appear in your life and give you advise.

I think his parallel at Marvel would be The Stranger (original nickname  ) He has a background that is virtually unexplained; only The Living Tribunal seems to know his story.
