What do you believe in wholeheartedly but can't prove?
What do you believe in wholeheartedly but can't prove?
We all have it - those things we just KNOW are true, but when asked, stumble and struggle to explain it. "I just KNOW it's right...isn't that enough for you to accept?". We don't have any real underlying logic for accepting it, perhaps because it's an abstract idea, a philosophy, a prediction, something incapable of producing supporting evidence, etc.
What is your unprovable truth?
A few of mine:
A Utopian government can only be created and maintained as a dictatorship. A democracy or socialist government won't ever come close...
All women are bi-sexual
No man is bi-sexual
Man first discovered god during a prehistoric acid trip
Alien life does exist, and we'll be REALLY disappointed when we find it
religion is the best thing to ever happen to society
religion is the worst thing to ever happen to society

Re: ...believe...but can't prove?
Thanks a lot, man. That means I'm pretty stupid.
OTOH, That any of you really exist. How do I know that some of you are not just the computer trying to make it seem that there are a lot of people here.
I believe in all that we have seen, and yet don't understand and condemn what we don't understand....Yet I still believe in the spirit of life that we all have within ourselves to make a difference no matter what travesties we behold........I believe still in people.

on the topic of which religion is correct---> none (with exception to budhism, since technically you really do become one with everything, physically if not spiritually)
is there heaven or hell?---> no. it makes no sense that any divine creator would design something so complex as a soul simply for it to exist for practically no time at all and then determine whether to punish it cuelly and hatefully for eternity or grant it a state of eternal bliss and uselessness forever. no sense at all
whether or not a true democracy exists or is capable of existing---> no
whether or not a dictatorship can be trusted to deliver a utopia---> HA! yeah right, better stick with 'democracy'
I believe god & religion is just peoples imaginations like something for them to believe in coz they dont believe in them selves i cnt really explain it

This on the one hand.
And then most scientific theories...I mean they are not actually proven...very likely (to some extend) but not proven. There's probably more...after all, to go al skeptic on you, I can't even prove that I exist...or you...or that pee-looking apple juice right here, but for some reason I take it for granted, probably is easier that way.

Not to go all skeptic on you....nah, nevermind, I agree.
Wasn't there live found on some planet....well not very advanced but I believe there has been. And going back to scientific theories it is very, very, verys, very likely that there is life out there, although that obviously would only be a belief again.
