Well, I'm not sure, but I'd start by looking into the Silver Surfer cartoon and check out Thanos' voice from there.

You could also check to see how Capcom voiced him in Marvel Super Heroes or Marvel vs Capcom 2.

His voice on the SS cartoon was a surprise - Deep yet Soft, Educated, Mellow, Cultured. Of course, he carried on many conversations with Lady Death, so it made for a creepy effect...
Megatron's voice for Transformers:Beast Wars was like that, too.
