What keeps Flash, Quicksilver, and the rest from being covered in dead bugs...
...like a car on the highway?

Bugs fly into cars because they're attracted to the light, these guys don't carry torches and are a lot smaller than a car.... also the wind thing the other guy said
At the speeds they travel at, they're moving too fast for the wind to sweep anything out of the way.

bUGS FLY INTO CARS DURING THE DAYTIME TOO. mOST OF THE TIME, THE BUG NEVER EVEN SEES THE CAR COMING.

this among other things is why speedsters are rarely (if ever) portrayed correctly as far as real world physics for objects moving that fast, let alone organic matter.
Small dust particles would hit a person going that greater than light speed and would leave an exit wound of 12' on the other side (yes, an exageration, but not by much)
as far as ive heard, speedforce is the sorta "catch all" physics answer for the flashes, however other speedsters dont get that privilage unfortunatly
as bad as speedsters are, its nothing compared to how quantum physics is potrayed in comics, if you want a good example of this check out the new squadron supreme.... ya.....

dust particles moving at mach 1 would still have a ridiculously low amount of momentum though.... they aren't going to hurt anyone... besides, Quicksilver's mutation adapted his whole body for superspeed travel... his tendons and ligaments are as strong as steel cable... I see no reason to believe his skin wouldn't have been adapted to be durable enough for this type of situation
lol, for dust i was refering more to the close to light speed
To be honest, when it comes to speedsters im more interested in why their skin isnt slowly worn away by continuous erosion caused by the friction with the air
im not saying the powers shouldnt work or whatever, im sure over the years writers have become aware of certain inconsistensies and done their best to rectify them
however, im sure we could all find moments with any powerset where they wouldn't hold up in the real world. I see no reason to throw away a character or powerset because they wouldnt work for real, story and imagination are way more important then scientific realism. Its a comic :P
