How badass would IC#7 been, if........?
Superman and Superman Original had taken the load from the greenie guys, saying "we've got it from here fellas", and when OrigiSupes asked how they're gonna take him down, Superman says "We've got the guy to put the period on this saga waiting on the other side of Rao."
And then go for a ghastly sundip, and come out vastly depowered, but still able to tussle.
SBP is naturally more powerful than the two oldies, but they show a red and yellow blur come around Rao at insane speeds and takes him right into Mogo.
Yep, thats right.
SHAZAM!!
And we see the three of them taking Superboy Emo down, and Firestorm turning the sun Rao from red to yellow, empowering the three back to their original levels.
WW comes in her invisjet, and wraps him in the lasso, and then all three(Cap Marvel, Superman and OrigiSupes) come at him from different directions, and in the collision they destroy Rao, but Kyle comes from across the universe, and shields them from the supernova with a smirk.
In a bloodied mess, Sbp is down, his costume ruined and body broken but healing in the left over radiation.
That's how IC should've ended.
Plus it leaves the way for Rao to come onto the scene, since his avatar was destroyed by pesky mortals. It fleshes out the pantheons of Krypton, and just opens up more story potential all around.
And everybody would've looked good, not just the Supermen.
Least, imo.

The way I wanted it to end was after flying through Rao, SBP is still beating up the two Supermen, but then two red beams, curving at 90 - degree angles, fly from off - panel and hit him, and he disappears, leaving nothing but a faint wisp of smoke behind.
Then the next panel shows Darkseid standing there, and he makes a speech about how he's amazed such a pathetic creature could have given them so much trouble. Then he boom tubes back to Apokolips.

Nah, It was supposed to have that emotional impact of the three Supermen going at it. Different viewpoints, but essentially the same character. Superman is supposed to be the "heart" of DC so its only fitting that it be him in the climax. Having others like Firestorm and Shazaam would have taken away from that imo.

But i don't see how it could've made it worse.
IC 7 is where it fizzled out mostly, imo.
The comic fans who aren't in love with all things Superman think that it could've been handled better, without being so SuperCentric.
But if you didn't mind it, ehh.
Personally, seeing OrigiSupes beaten to death, only to have his other self pull out the win is kinda predictable, and by the books.
Make it a DCU win, and everybodies happy, rather than just Superman fans.
