 I'm the confused new guy

I'm obviously new, otherwise I wouldn't be saying that right now. I suck at introductions, so like bare with me here. Some people call me:

I have questions for you guys.

1. Everyone has the ability to use an avatar. Why can't I?
2. Is this place completely free? If not...crap.
3. Why does post count not show up?
