True, their method of attack seemed to be simply hounding someone until they lose the will to live.

One of their manifestations also seemed to be weaving the strands of fate, and cutting them at the end of a life, even for The Endless. The question is: Did they actually influence/control someones life, or did the weaving simply conform to the life, without having any actual power over it...? Was the weaving merely symbolic?
