Since creating topics where villains enslave and collect the souls of their fallen foes yields too much animosity, I decided to recycle this concept of “forging from the enemy” but in a different fashion. This time it will be a more popular character, Kratos, who is also known as a character that “forges from his enemies.” But unlike enslaving or collecting the souls of his victims, Kratos just steals their weapons and magical artifacts upon their defeat.
Kratos enters an arena tournament where only bladed weapons are allowed. No magics, projectile magics, or projectile weapons are allowed unless otherwise stated.
Kratos is armed with Blades of Exile, Claws of Hades, Nemean Cestus, Nemesis Whip, Barbarian Hammer, Spear of Destiny, The Gaunlet of Zeus, and Blade of Artemis.
Kratos is allowed two rests in this gauntlet.
If Kratos wants to use ex: Super Dragon Install, Kratos must be wielding the weapon that grants that ability to do so ex: Outrage. Kratos cannot use Super Dragon Install while using Blades of Exile, etc.
Sol Badguy
Sol can use Super Dragon Install
-Kratos acquires Outrage and learns Super Dragon Install upon defeating Sol Badguy
Cloud
Cloud can use Limit Breaks: Braver, Cross-Slash, Climhazzard, Omnislash
-Kratos acquires Buster Sword and learns Braver, Cross-Slash, Climhazzard, Omnislash upon Cloud’s defeat
Ike
Ike can use Aether and Nihil
Aether negates defense and restores health equal to the damage dealt
Nihil will negate all special skills such as Super Dragon Install and Limit Breaks.
-Kratos acquires Ragnell and learns Aether upon Ike’s defeat
Ryu Hayabusa
Ryu Hayabusa can use charge combos, flying swallow, and Izuna drop
Ryu is invulnerable during charge combos
Flying Swallow can OHKO if used on an unarmored opponent and not blocked or evaded
Izuna drop will cause paralysis and cause a 50% decrease in the opponent’s swordsmanship skills
-Kratos acquires the Dragon Sword and learns Flying Swallow upon Ryu’s defeat
Dante
Dante can use Devil Trigger.
Dante has regeneration, but can only regenerate slash wounds. Dante cannot regenerate loss limbs.
-Kratos acquires Rebellon and learns a Devil Trigger like power-up upon Dante’s defeat
Nightmare
Nightmare has damage resistance due to his armor.
Soul Edge is highly powered and enchanted with HP Drain, Auto Counter, Auto Unblockable, Auto Grapple Break, Will Power, Venom Fang, Shave Damage, Knock Down, Increase Soul Gauge Recovery, Nullify Aerial Control, Impact Edge, Impact Heal, and Soul Repeal.
Nightmare can use his critical finish OHKO
-Kratos acquires Soul Edge upon Nightmare’s defeat
Actually with the way he made this gauntlet work Kratos could stop at Ike. He says Aether negates Defense. And if it negates Kratos' defense then it completely cuts him in half.
Especially with Nihil negating basically anything that isn't a handheld weapon.

By stabbing and slashing things with more strength than anyone in this gauntlet has faced. Same goes for his durability and his lightning time reactions.

Sol is the only one I see posing a challenge given the stipulations of this thread.
Nightmare should not be the last challenger IMO, but given Soul Edge's powers, I dunno. Kratos with Soul Edge would be really uber though.
BTW Moo, Aether only halves defense, it does not negate it completely. It's still pretty good, though I don't know if Ike could get hits in against Kratos.

Thing is, Nightmare survived free ranged reality warping slashes when his Soul Edge clashed with Soul Calibur. Nobody in this thread has that kind of power...

I guess my perspective is, if you can beat a guy by bysecting bits of him into other universes, it beats solid physical blows by a long shot... Meh... I'm too tired to think about it in more detail though...
Sol Badguy is far and away the single most powerful person in this gauntlet, to the extent that he could actually take on everyone else in the gauntlet at the same time. Sol is top-tier in a verse where one of the weakest characters in the game can belt you to the moon, and mid-tiers can level cities. Sol Badguy is top-tier while holding back, the only characters I would say are definately above him in Guilty Gear are That Man, Slayer, Raven, and maybe Faust (Actually able to stalemate Raven in a reality warping battle). You are talking about a guy who was able to survive the death of his past self, willing himself to stay in existence.
