We don't know how powerful Lord Marvel really is... he did treat Magus , and Quasar<of the Canserverse> pretty badly not sure if that was a powerful thing or a status thing.
He is probably close to Thanos level though.

If this is a simple break and entry job, Thanos succeeds in the theft. Lord Marvel out of the confines of the Rock of Eternity is too much for Thanos to beat sans CIS or plot related hoax. In the rock of Eternity Marvel would be an unstoppable force of magic, and would beat Thanos with ease. This is spite.
