 Superman but not Superman vs Thanos (twist)

Superman loses his abilities and is endowed with Absorbing man powers. He gets 5 yrs to get accustomed to his new abilities. The fight takes place in new York City.

The only reason Absorbing man isn't the monster he should be is due to his retarded mindset. Can Superman fulfill that gap and win against Thanos.?

No TP or shields for this battle.
