Imo these two are relatively even in lightsaber combat, but Kyp blows Kenobi away via force power. Kyp wins for a solid majority.

Kenobi should definitely take sabers. At best Kyp is on-par with Katarn, and even then Katarn isn't quite as good as Kenobi.
