Ion 2 power isn't what you think it is.

Iirc his best feats were owning Grayven and Nero.

Thanos had complete mastery of reality. He would simply shut off Hal's powers and leave him floating helpless in space. He would of course die from exposure. End of story. Thanos was able to toy with several Abstract beings at once when he had the IG.

ION2 should have been stronger than ION1 in theory, but he never really did anything. Allegedly it was the power of ION 1 with the Starheart added though.

Based on theory, you have a possibly stalemate or a slight edge one way or the other, as ION1 could re-write time or create a universe on a whim if he wanted. And this was again allegedly more powerful than that.

But in what ION2 actually showed- he's no match for the Gauntlet, even with Hal at the wheel.
