We can argue about the implementation, but tbh, the Internet needs to be protected from the monopolies or oligopolies that own the pipes and rent the wavelength. If not, the abuse by these giant organisations can and likely will run rampant.

Lmao @ America having "world class" internet. Maybe compared to internet in say, Venezuela.

I should make it clear that true net neutrality needs to be implemented and not the FCCs half-assed pandering to ISPs.

They are trying to have their cake and eat it too.

My opinion is that the US Government should be primarily regulatory in nature. The FCC is one such body. Some people talk about "America is a Capitalist nation!" but if no ISPs are competing, that's not really the spirit of that comment, now is it? If they are forced to compete and no traffic is prioritized, then there is a fair playing field. The FCC should provide this regulation. If ISPs wish to compete in America, then they should be forced to abide by a net neutrality rule AND if they form barely legal non-compete agreements, they should be fined (they actually do this).

So...just waiting for the FCC to actually lay down the hammer and come up with proper regulations.
