Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Anyone can make a claim that a character has the potential to destroy a planet, but who in DC has a feat of destroying one? Your question can be better answer then.
And remember, rings are programmed to protect the life of their user at all costs, so even if he stabs one, it won't be fatal (Not unless he can cut the ring off and hit something vital at in one pass.)
