Why do LGBT and the gun lobby have advocates on capital hill, and the homeless none? Money.
At least, according to one politicians when asked why homeless were a neglected issue.
Are there any examples that prove him wrong? Legislators, presidents, or high powered politicians acting not because of a well funded lobby, or because of a well funded lawsuit, but because it was the right thing to do?

Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
Well, you're wrong but for the right reasons...or wrong? I don't know. But why you are wrong doesn't make you point wrong.
Homeless do have advocates in politics. It's called other rich people don't like all the homeless hanging around a particular area so they form a PAC to get rid of the homeless. Or just rally together to get enough people to their local council. Make enough stink and then the city takes action (hence the PAC moniker I gave it).
These people are usually well-off or wealthy business owners.
