Trumps racism has no basis in Science

http://sitn.hms.harvard.edu/flash/2...e-21st-century/

Written way back in 2017

Donald Trump’s election as the 45th President of the United States has been marked by the brewing storms of racial conflicts. A rise in racial incidents ensued in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s victory in November 2016. Since the beginning of 2017, over 100 bomb threats have been made against Jewish community centers and schools. Trump’s travel ban, signed in late January 2017, initially affected about 90,000 people from seven Middle Eastern countries; 87,000 of those banned were Muslims. Minorities such as American Muslims and black Americans have expressed fears over racial relations under Trump. Undeniably, the topic of race—and racism—has gripped America and the world throughout.

Why Race is a Social construct

The Science bit.

In the Stanford study, over 92% of alleles were found in two or more regions, and almost half of the alleles studied were present in all seven major geographical regions. The observation that the vast majority of the alleles were shared over multiple regions, or even throughout the entire world, points to the fundamental similarity of all people around the world—an idea that has been supported by many other studies (Figure 1B).

If separate racial or ethnic groups actually existed, we would expect to find “trademark” alleles and other genetic features that are characteristic of a single group but not present in any others. However, the 2002 Stanford study found that only 7.4% of over 4000 alleles were specific to one geographical region. Furthermore, even when region-specific alleles did appear, they only occurred in about 1% of the people from that region—hardly enough to be any kind of trademark. Thus, there is no evidence that the groups we commonly call “races” have distinct, unifying genetic identities. In fact, there is ample variation within races (Figure 1B).

Ultimately, there is so much ambiguity between the races, and so much variation within them, that two people of European descent may be more genetically similar to an Asian person than they are to each other

I know most Trumpers on this board don't like Science...

Trump isn't racist so this thread is pointless. Just another crybaby "orange man bad" thread from pooty.

As we get closer and closer to the election he'll desperately keep putting out more and more crybaby crap like this because he stupidly thinks the election will be decided by people on this forum lol. laughing out loud

You gotta laugh at how they selectively love science.

All the science went out the door when there was a cause to protest these science "lovers" agreed with.

So this is your gig today, Whirly? Baselessly claim someone is 'racist', 'transphobic', or whatever, then post an article disproving the thing you've claimed they are? And then... mic drop, or something?

Do you realise how stupid this looks to people not entranced by the left/right ideology dichotomy?

Because it looks sooooooo stupid haha

It's his gig pretty much every day. He won't always make specific threads, but it seems like it's on a daily basis that he falsely accuses someone of being racist, alt right, or anti trans.

Yep, it's his daily thang and, as I said, as we get closer to election he will do it more and more.

Yeah, none of it is based in science.

This includes the concept of Jewish ancestory dating back to the 13 tribes being challenged by data that infers many are actually European converts.

The juries still out on that one, but it makes sense when you consider intermarriage is a thing to this day, and anyone can convert into the religion.

Just gonna point out: the racism of democrats has no basis in science.

I would love for someone to come try to argue it does though, it would be entertaining.

I think your getting confused about advantageous characteristics, selection pressure, genetic markers and race. Beneficial mutations will always be selected for like fat metabolism and additional layers of fat. Within any group who are isolated these characteristics become more pronounced. The high number of very tall west indians and the high number of very big icelanders do not mean they are not people and might share many Gene's with each other, in fact they might share more than they don't. Although in very small populations this is actually very unlikely. Selecting beneficial characteristics for an environment is what evolution does. So core Gene's for humans remain constant. Icelanders have more fat and muscle, they are still basically the same as other people. My favourite example of selection is the Sudanese sand flap over the vagina.

I'm not familiar with it tbh, I did my degree in Molecular Biology and my further degree in Genetics thirty years ago. Hook me up, I'm be interested.
