The Mike Tyson Saga continues

I almost feel sorry for the guy for all the people who's cheated of him, then I remember him being convicted for raping a women and all those sad feelings go away.

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson's hard-knocks history of growing up in Brooklyn is well documented. He navigated a bumpy road to the top of his profession in the '80s, got knocked out by Buster Douglas in 1990, served jail time for a rape conviction and seems to have a propensity for bizarre behavior.

Not to mention Tyson, who turns 38 on Wednesday, is in debt up to his eye tattoo.

Tyson told the New York Sun in editions of June 23 that he has been sleeping in homeless shelters and living like a "street bum" since declaring himself bankrupt, and has been accepting handouts from drug dealers.

"For the past two years, I been a bum, truly a bum in the streets," he told the paper.

"I got nowhere to live. I been crashing with friends, sleeping in shelters. Unsavory characters are giving me money and I'm taking it. I need it. The drug dealers, they sympathize with me. They see me as some sort of pathetic character."

Tyson will fight British boxer Danny Williams on July 30 in Louisville, Ky., and hopes to use his winnings from this and six other planned fights to pay his debts.

Though he once had $300 million in the bank, now Tyson is $24.4 million in the red, even after a settlement with promoter Don King that would pay the former champ $14 million.

"When I had money, I was an animal," Tyson told the New York Times last week. "I was so belligerent. I was so cantankerous, so persistently disregardless. I wasn't that nice of a person. Just because you buy mansions and cars doesn't mean you know what money is worth.

"I lost all across the board. My life has been a total waste.''

Tyson, who served three years in jail for rape in the 1990s and who bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear during a 1997 fight, admits he has changed, though for better or worse isn't easily discernible.

"I know I was a tough, bad-ass talking fighter, but I ain't no mob figure. I did my time for the rape. I paid my money to Las Vegas. I paid my dues," he told the Sun.

"I ain't the same person I was when I bit that guy's ear off."

I read many people though Tyson would be the next Jack Dempsey. I have fight films of both fighters

Amazing with Dempsey I have Dempsey Tunney 2 complete (1927) and the 1923 Gibbions fight all 15 rounds. It was a long search but I found it.

Also his fights with Firpo and the Frenchman.

As Tyson was becoming big in the 80's He was like Dempsey, They both fought the same way(I mean it, Bob and weaving that Tyson copy)

They both were hard hitters and deem unbeatble.

Than Dempsey lost to Tunney and Tyson lost to Holfiled(Douglas) and were view as flaw fighters.

Tyson had the shot to be great, to bad he bith Holfiled's ear in the rematch, that ruin any greatness Tyson should have goten.

not many could go toe to toe with a prime Dempsey either. IF you think Tyson could hit Dempsey hit harder.

When Dempsey won the title from Jess Willard, In round 1 Dempsey floored Willard 7 times. 3 ribs broke, 4 teeth knockout, broken Jaw and cheek bone and busted up cheek bones. Dempsey almost killed Willard in that 1919 heavyweight title fight.

Tyson is a loser. I dont understand how anyone could feel sorry for the bum. I mean he says he is forced to fight because he's in debt, well big god damn deal. He lands 30 million plus for a boxing match, or well used to. He had well over 300 million at one time and now he's broke. That sounds like a dumbass to me. I could live the rest of my life on a million dllars, and he will get 5 million a match and he is complaining. I never liked the whiny bi*tch and would never watch him fight, but i must say that i plan on watching him now, just so i can see him get his ass beat buy real boxers.Tyson was overated, yeah he could hit hard and harsh flurry, but he had no stamina, no form, and never fought anyone worth mentioning. Holyfield tore tyson apart as an old man, the tyson holyfield matches were always one sided greatly. Imagine what holyfeild would have done to tyson in his prime. Tyson and lewis, well that was humiliating, watching that fight, you could clearly see that tyson diddnt belong in that ring, and he diddnt, he diddnt earn that shot, he got there soley on his late 80's early 90's reputation

tyson should retire....lennox lewis knocked him the **** out....if that wasnt a clear message sayin to him that u should retire mate...u aint good enough........bring back lewis not bloody tyson
