Marvel vs DC Fighting Game: Pick a Roster

So let's say, although this would never happen, Marvel and DC co-create a fighting game.... what characters would you choose for the roster? Who would you start with, and who would be unlockable? When playing in "story mode" who would the bosses be?

For a grand total of 34 characters. Well, your lists can be smaller (or bigger). Obviously I didn't care about power levels. I wouldn't make the game realistic at all. Wolverine would have a chance to take out Superman as well as any other. ("Speedblitz" would totally be in Supes' combo arsenal, though.)

Where is the Hulk or Thor or Juggernaut

I couldn't include every one I wanted or there'd be like, 100 characters on there....

Plus I wanted to get a variety of fighting styles in there. Every character there should work slightly differently. (Like, Bizarro has all Superman's moves, but you have to hit the combos in reverse or something....)

I have made threads like this before and I didn't get much response...........

I think the list you have madfe is brilliant but I would recommend the possible additions of Deadpool and Nightwing...............

Fortress of Solitude would be sweet.

Also, Bizarro World and Apokalips should be arenas. As well as Asteroid M. Stark's Mansion would be an awesome Arena because you could have a little Jarvis sprite run around under the fight screaming "oh dear, the fine china!"

I like the idea of the daily Bugle offices, as you could have worker running around screaming, with jameson in the background yelling, and hundreds of bits of paperwork and computers flying everywhere............total hilarious chaos..............

Yeah, it was hard to think of big time DC women characters. Aside from Wonder Woman, there aren't any solo women in DC really. I think it would be better to put Hawkgirl in there instead of Hawkman. The problem with most of the big female characters in DC is they're all rip-offs of the men. Supergirl, Mary Marvel, Batgirl, Huntress, etc.

I'd also add "alternate" costumes, which would actually enhance the play. Beating the game with Spider-Man would unlock a Spider-Man 2099 costume, which would actually change the fighting attributes of Spidey. He'd inflict more damage, but be a little less evasive. If you beat the game with Genis, you can get a Mar-Vell costume. A bone claw Wolverine, U.S.Agent for Cap, Ant-Man for Yellowjacket, or Wasp, whomever makes it in. Etc.
