Anime Movies: Live Action Or Not?

Escaflowne is too much. It would look worse then Dungens and Dragons.

Actually we were talkin about making DBZ a movie, and I have just seen Matrix revolutions. Now after I have seen the Smith VS Neo fight I can immagine how a DBZ fight in a movie would look like. All that action in the air was nice and only lacking DBZ power moves 😄

well for me it's a tie between kenshin, inuyasha, and yu yu. but i voted for inuyasha anyway

i've seen people dress up as the inu characters at anime conventions, the costumes looked good. plus, the characters are more grounded and spx can use wires and stuff to pull off the simi aireal battles.

I wanna see this new Lupin III movie.. Lupin ****in' rocks.

Wow, finally someone mentioned Lupin. I thought that only a few ppl were left as fans of that old anime. I used to watch it when I was a kid and Lupin is one of the most hillarious animes ever. Extreme action and lots of laughs while at it. The ideal character to play Lupin is in fact and had always been Jean Paul Belmondo. He is dead by now I think but that was the only guy that looked almost like Lupin and had the same constitution and did all his stunts. Stunts like flying helicopters, planes, paradropping, u name it.

Now after I have seen the Smith VS Neo fight I can immagine how a DBZ fight in a movie would look like.

You took the words right out of my mouth about the fight in revolutions. Dind't know how it all could be gone until I saw that movie. I'd love to see the likes of Goku,Vegeta,Cell, and a host of others.

One thing's for sure, if it's done correctly, the budget cannot be small

Looks like Goku broke Piccolo's leg in that pic 😆

i so want to see trigun as a live action movie! vash is so funny!

Looks like Goku broke Piccolo's leg in that pic

LOL, yeah, not only was the guy dressed as Piccolo, but he was battle damaged too. I thought that was entirely too clever.

is that a convention?

is that a convention?

Yeah, i'm with Piccolo at the Las Vegas comic convention and i'm on stage performing at the San Diego comic convention masquerade.

great job on the costumes! (let's get back on topic soon so that the mod doesn't close this thread soon)

I love the idea of DBZ and the fight scenes can be done reasonably now that i've seen Matrix Revolutions but now my thing is..............how would they look and what about all of that crazy hair?

i'm guessing they would have to modify and tweek the style of the hair. in this sketch i had to do for art, since i can't draw the hair and people too well but the clothes, i just changed the hair so that it was individual spikes. easier. it wouldn't be too bad if they did that?

The newest news on the Akira movie is Stephen Norrington dropped out, stating he no longer wanted to work on big budget movies. Warner Brothers have shelved the skript, and so far no other news of them making it has been made. Which, is good news for Akira fans like me, because I don't think a live action should be made.

I think Cowboy Beebop, because its the most realistic. And sad to say I think if they made a live movie on Dragon Ball Z that would look a little corny or lame.

Crazy hair = wigs and LOT'S of gel, etc.

Those are some awesome costumes...I love to cosplay...

But back on topic, anime should stay anime, because it'd be too easy to destroy a good anime by trying to make it liveaction.

what would be cool is if it started with the moon and clouds where moving over it and then if it started with a stare down kenshin and jina and then the start a giant fight scene and then after that it faded to RURONI KESHIN:tale of a living hell and its when kenshin is in his late late late 30ies and the whole movie could be about how enishi wants his revenge and end al sad and stuff that calls for a sequal!

Anime is difficult to produce in live action . Even when a film is completed it is usually very cheesy, look at the guyver series (although I personally liked 'Dark Hero'😉
