No, that's the point, it is kids their age. I heard the news story on the stereo, and a young girl actually got her throat slit by a school 'chum'. I think she was about 6

doesn't really matter, i'd say....vest or no vest...if the guy wants to kill the kid...a silly vest won't stop him.
besides...what the vest does is prevent the blade froma ctually piercing through..but because of the fact that it, as a piece of clithing, is flexible..the blade will still harm the kid..even though it won't go through (much like with kevlar vests). and you have the throat clear out of the jacket..to eliminate any dilemmas about the torso.
