Thats like saying the Bulls never should have let Kukoc because he played a role in the Bulls championships. Teams can't keep living in the past. You don't keep players that were not the main piece in a championship that happened a couple of years ago if you have a chance to get a big time impact player that instantly boosts your chances of being on top again.
this season the Edmonton Oilers traded Assistant Captain Ryan Smyth to the New York Islanders for Forwards Robert Nillson and Robert Omarra and a 2007 1st round draft pick.
in my opinion, the Oilder front office betrayed Smyth, his dream growing up was to b an Oiler for life. thats the only place he ever wanted to play and he gave a lot to the city of Edmonton...im a huge Flames fan so naturally hate the Oilers, but i always thought Smyth was a good player and a good ambassador for the game.
the Peter Forseburg trade was also bad...for the Flyers not the Preds!
