It's mentioned in ultimate spiderman a few times that he wants to end up on the Ultimates... but Fury gave him an uncategorical "no" until he's eighteen... this just...doesn't make sense.
Ultimates volume 1 and 2 was fun because it was superhero tales set against the backdrop of american imperialism. this just looks like Loeb writing New Avengers, set in the Ultimate universe. I hope I'm wrong.
Apparently the Ultimates are going to fight the Brotherhood (Stupid xmen cant even fight their own villains) and Venom, which explains why Wolverine and Spidey are on the team (For now at least)
Oh and apparently Storm is going to join the brotherhood
Gender: Male Location: Training for the Fanboy Olympics
what the heck? can't they at least get a better villain team? and about all the redesigns it just looks like the artist doesn't even know what the Ultimates are supposed to look like. Make it Mad's own? thats crap so much of it is just rehashed 616 designs.

It looks like they have gone too far from the original designs. I like the art and I won't knock the storyline until I've read it but I'm not liking it so far.
Well in Ultimate War, Magneto alone took down some guards, trapped Cap, beat up Thor and his kids (Although Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver surrendered to daddykins) without any effort.
didn't ultimate sabretooth have four retractable wolverine-esque claws, not seemingly adamantium-tipped kitty claws? do these guys know they're doing an ultimate book?
also, didn't the ultimates just fend off the forces of ragnarok [after fighting through a specifically-targeted terrorist organization] with the help of some norsemen? is the brotherhood meant to pose a big threat?

and a horde of trolls, the midgard serpent, and what appeared to be at least three fenris...es. but, whoo, who knows? a fat guy, wolverine's apparent son, a chick with guns, multiple man [whose powers were synthesized to create schizoid man, the recently-shit-beaten-out-of liberator,] magneto and some maybe storm punk. they might steamroll the bolstered numbers of the ultimates.
I'm inclined to agree with you, although Mag's is a force to be reckoned with. I'm not gonna knock it though until I've read it. I'm reasonably optimistic
