i supose..
i kind of like the way the force is described in this series, and also the things that you never see jedi do in movies (routine missions, training, what life is like for younglings at the temple etc.)..
it also gives backstory to the characters (quigon when he was a boy, in brief flashbacks, and likewise for kenobi [apparently he had a brother called owen ])

The Jedi Apprentice books are canon so far as they are EU books and nothing in the films contradicts them.
