I'm sorry to say it, but I've yet to see a female mainstream anime character that I don't think is a weakly represented stereotype or outright uninteresting (ie, nearly every chick from Naruto sans Ten Ten, which is due largely to her lack of any major screen time).

Yes I can 😐 As I said, amongst at least the mainstream animes today (at the very least Shonen Jump), a number of supporting cast characters that hold my contempt have come to be mostly the ladies.

In this day and age, many things in the realm of entertainment can be categorized in some way, but it's really only worth calling it out should it be executed to a less-than-satisfactory level. Execution of something matters more than the thing itself. For now, I'll leave it at that.
