Most Spider-man fights. Always running around, getting his butt kicked, and then he gets "serious" and lays a trouncing on an opponent who at first beat him so easily.
Also, Sandman and Hydroman never lose wthout help from a plot device.
Spidey somehow ko'ing a herald. Firel....cough....lord.......
DS losing to supes... It should take a whole group of class 100's to beat him.
Drax ?killing? Thanos in Annihilation.
He did, but he acted like it was some big deal, as if it was tearing him up inside to kill the cosmic menace that had thus far shown no trace of mercy or respect for the sanctity of life and was more of a force of nature than a living thing.

What's the importance of CIS since it's all ultimately PIS? I mean, it's not like there's a real character failing to do something, eg, he could otherwise do. It's the writers, doing whatever they feel best drives the story. Why even make a CIS distinction?

Its true they often go hand in hand but CIS is distinct because whereas PIS is when a character gets beaten in an unrealistic way, CIS is when said character gets beaten, in spite of their powers, because they're either holding back or being stupid.
