Hmm... maybe Sulu would have worked but I think he has more to him than Chekov; and at that stage would have looked weird being on another ship's away mission.

I haven't seen Insurrection (or more aptly named 'Data 3' due to the fact that every Next Generation movie is about him 😄 ) in a long while so I'll have to take your word for it, I think he ws introduced in 'First Contact' well; maybe he should have stayed on the Enterprise after that and been involved from the off. On the subject of Worf I think he should have his own movie, kicking *ss in the Defiant.

Newest info is now saying he's not Khan, but still the villain.

The photo of him gorilla-gripping Spock still makes me wonder, as no normal human could do that to Spock. So maybe they're working in the Eugenics Program that spawned Khan in some fashion, without using Khan.
