Oh yeah I hated that. You'd think he could get the killing blow on ONE of the big baddies. He got killed by Frieza, humiliated by Cell twice, killed by Majin Buu, might as well have been killed by Kid Buu who beat the snot out of him (although that fight has some of my favorite Vegeta moments ever). He didn't get all that much glory lol.

Hey, Vegeta is technically the only one to defeat Goku, that's gotta count for something. He may have had to go Giant Ape, but Goku couldn't move at all after that fight for a long while.

... Piccolo totally killed Goku with Special Beam Cannon "magazanapoloagwaopnwa".
Ginyu technically beat Goku, though not with strength or power.
Android 19 (the silly white face) beat Goku.

I explained how I felt about Vegeta in the official DBZ topic.

What I do like was how he was in the Saiyan and Namek Saga. He was a real badass and one to never mess with. He gave Goku quite a fight and in the Namek Saga, it was just awesome how he was beating and destroying most of the other bad guys by himself. He was still a douche for killing off a village...but then again, he was in no way a saint.

Unfortunately, what I don't like is how he turned out in the next two sagas. Sure, he finally reached Super Saiyan levels but I think his pairing up with Bulma softened him up too much. Aside from the whole thing looking awkward (that's why I still prefer Yamcha x Bulma), it made him seem less badass than he was before. I heard something about Bulma seeing him as "lonely" (this was even said in DBZ Kai). This kind of conflicts with Vegeta's character, as he was always a loner and never truly cared for others in the first place. Even after Trunks was born, he still preferred to do things on his own and didn't even care about Trunks or Bulma. It wasn't until when Future Trunks was killed that he darn near made a 180 turnaround (even though he didn't show even a hint of concern about at first) and this changed into something quite different from what we use to him. He was no longer the badass lonewolf he was before but instead, a family man with a prideful nature.

It was a change that happened too fast with no hint of a buildup. It seemed forced and almost random compared to Vegeta's main character development (finally accepting Goku was better after three story arcs). That's why I prefer to remember Vegeta for who he was in the Saiyan and Namek saga.

I'm assuming he never told anyone about that time he and Nappa blew up Arlia, so Goku never figured out he could as well.

And Bardock did it too when he went to fight Frieza...and was shouting his name...in space.

It's a recurring comment but Goku isn't a lousy of a father as people make him out to be. I think Vegeta turne dout to be a badass dad but Goku didn't do a bad job at all.

Anyways I think Vegeta is the most interesting character in the series. Let's face it we love DBZ because of the fights and we love it despite plot inconsistencies, or a lack of real character development. Vegeta is the closest thing to it though from a bloodthirsty Saiyan Prince to an Earthling father. GT sucked but it was funny to see Vegeta getting bitched by his daughter.

As a fighter it is annoying at times to see him cocky but Goku has it too, he just replaces insults with kindness.

Can you repeat your first sentence, I didn't get it. If Vegeta could breath in Space and so could Bardock, then goku should be able to as well..

On second thought, its not breathing in space...its not having to breath or require oxygen to live, cause there is nothing to breath in space.

I'm saying, Vegeta and Nappa were shown talking in space when they blew up Arlia. (I'm assuming that's what you were talking about). But Vegeta never told Goku that, so he assumed that like a normal person, he needed a space suit.

No human or Saiyan has ever breathed in space in the manga. The anime just lacks logic.

In the Dragonball Manga Goku power poled the Rabbit Gang to the moon. Where they all were living and talking.

What Episode?

I don't remember the issue. But it was the Dragonball Manga. Goku stopped Rabbit King, then he used the Power Pole to blast the entire Rabbit gang up to the moon, and left them there.

Yes. He took them up to the moon, then left after a while.

The thing I like most about Vegeta is out of all the characters he has the most intelligent and complicated character and personality. But the thing I dislike about Vegeta is that he is called Goku's eternal rival but he keeps getting further and further behind Goku, once he reached super saiyan 2 that was it, and even that he barely uses, heck in gt he never goes super saiyan 2. Even when Vegeta finally caught up when he went super saiyan 4, once he changed back he couldn't reach it again without the help of Bulma's blutz wave generator. Heck in Gt there is even a big difference between Vegeta's super saiyan 1 form and Goku's, as we saw in the battle against Super 17.
