Tanking them... Not sure about that. Seemed more like Superman rendered them inert, and merely tanked the delivery mechanisms.

I thought the entire point was to destroy the missles, so they can't do their job.

this is actually an interesting question. i...don't know. been thinking about this for 2 days and can't come up with anything really quantifiably awesome. i MUST be missing something, but can't find it. /shrug
