Best 3 point shooter of all time?

I'm a Pacers fan so I'm obviously a little biased towards Reggie, but I'm glad to see that people from outside of Indiana think so highly of him also.

Highly? He's my favorite player ever.

Comparing Bird's game to Miller's game is like comparing apples and oranges. There style of play was completely different from one another. Reggie Miller could drive to the whole when he had to, but he was arguabley the greatest shooter ever, and it you're the greatest shooter ever, you don't need to drive to the whole, instead, you runoff screens, or create your own shots one on one. Miller had to shoot more 3s than Bird because his teams weren't as talented as Birds, and alot ot times, he would have to sink some 3s to have his team comeback, which he did, which in turn, makes him arguabley the best 3 point shooter of alltime.

reggie is the best ever? he was interviewed years ago and he admitted that bird was on a whole different level than he was. bird would tell you what he was gonna do, do it, and you couldnt stop him. he told reggie once, when the celtics were down 2 points with time running out, "i am gonna do this, then this, then this." he did it. as he released the ball, he turned to the pacers bench and said "over, fellas' and, as he started to walk off, the ball hit nothing but net.

You do know what "arguably" means right? This is the best cluth 3 pointer shooter of all time thread, and its either gonna be Reggie Miller, or Larry Bird. No ones going to be wrong for picking those two, but Dale Ellis? I would like to see that interview were Miller said Bird was on a whole other level than Bird, the only reason I could see him saying that is when Miller 1st came into the league, and Bird was in his prime, when Miller was in his prime Bird was out of the league. Bird even coached Miller, and not surprisingly has stated numerous times that Miller is one of the greatest shooters ever (no word on Dale Ellis yet). When Bird played the Pacers he would talk trash to Chuck Person, not Miller, but thats irrelevant. Miller could talk trash too, If you seen any of his games against Kobe, Jordan, or the Knicks you would know this. In fact if you seen any of his games at all we wouldn't be having this conversation.

i have seen reggie play, trust me. i have also seen him go against bird, and no one goes against bird without being owned.
as i stated earlier, dale ellis is the best ever from the point of view that if i were coaching the team, and i needed a big 3, i'd get the ball to him. this is my personal choice, and i am not trying to force it on anyone.
yes, miller is good, a tad bit overrated. ever since that new york playoff game years ago, the hype about him has grown and grown.
like i said, this thread is about PERSONAL choices who the best is, who you would try to get the ball to if YOU were the coach. theres no need to get hostile or to question my knowledge of basketball.

REGGIE MILLER

Reggie, he's awesome.

reggie i would say is either 2nd or third. more 2nd though.

but i honestly think the best 3-point shooter of all time is ray allen. now, reggie does have about 800 more 3 pointers than allen, (if im not mistaken), but ray allen is also way younger and has about 7-8 years more time to play to catch up to when reggie left. ray allen has achieved so much from beyond the arch, and his best is probably yet to come.

top 3 in my oipinion:
1-Ray Allen
2- Reggie Miller
3- Glen Rice

Mark Price certainly deserves a mention and probably had the most perfect shooting mechanics i have ever seen. When my kids are old enough to play i'll be showing them old tapes of Price to learn how to have the perfect form.

I love Mark Price, if he had a healthier career he would get more recognition

I love Ray and Reg and Bird but Glen over Jerry West?
