quote: "Eight Gay Men Tell of Dealings With Senator Larry Craig" The Associated Press
Boise, Idaho —A total of eight gay men have told a Boise newspaper that they have been hit on by U.S. Sen. Larry Craig and have now come forward because they are tired of conservative Republican's insistence he is not gay.
The men allege they either had sex with Craig or he approached them for sex.
Craig is fighting a guilty plea he entered in his guilty plea from a gay sex sting bust. When news of the bust and the Idaho senator's guilty plea became public Craig called a news conference to say he felt pressured into making the guilty plea and "I am not gay. I have never been gay."
The Idaho Statesman reported Sunday that the men came to the paper as result of Craig's statements and his negative voting record on LGBT civil rights.
Two of the men told the paper that they had sex with Craig. A third man said Craig had made a pass at him and the fourth said he had what the paper called "unusual attention" from the senator.
David Phillips, a 42-year-old information technology consultant in Washington, told the Statesman that that Craig picked him up at a gay club in 1986 and that they subsequently had sex.
Mike Jones, the onetime hustler prostitute who outed the Rev. Ted Haggard tells the paper that Craig also was a client and had paid him for sex in late 2004 or early 2005.
A third man told the Statesman that in 1981, when he was in a college GOP group he turned down an advance made by Craig at a Republican meeting in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
The fourth man told the paper that his "encounter" with Craig occurred at Idaho's Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area in the early 1980s.
The Statesman also reported that four other men who did not agree to be identified described for reporters sexual advances or encounters involving Craig.
In the Senate Craig has consistently voted "anti-gay."
He voted twice for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, voted for 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' the ban on gays serving openly in the military, and has opposed both a bill to ban job discrimination against gays and a bill that would add gays to federal hate crime law.
Craig initially said he would resign his Senate seat September 30. He later said he would stay on while fighting the guilty plea but will not seek re-election. His term ends in 2009.
On June 11, an undercover police officer was the men's room at the Minneapolis Airport when Craig allegedly tapped his feet and swiped his hand under the divider in a way authorities said was a signal for someone wanted sex.
Craig pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, but when the incident became public, he denied ever seeking sex there and said the officer misunderstood his actions. Craig then sought to withdraw his guilty plea to the misdemeanor.
In October a Minnesota judge refused to allow Craig to withdraw his guilty plea. Hennepin County Judge Charles Porter in a written ruling said that Craig's guilty plea was made voluntarily.
The case is now before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Craig, who has had a long battle with the Statesman, declined to comment on the story but in a statement e-mailed to The Associated Press, the senator said the newspaper's report was "completely false."

You forgot the recent allegations against Trent Lott. And while the claims appear fabricated, leftard bloggers don't seem to mind...especially not when the source is a deceitful media-whore like Capriccioso.

Homosexual allegations against him? Because that's news to me, do you have a link, I am curious to see.
Lott has his other problems though, besides possibly being a closeted self-hating homosexual hypocrite (if above allegation are true). His Thurmond comments in 2002 were asinine, to say the least.

quote: "Are Gay Rumors The Real Reason Behind Trent Lott's Resignation?" Cleavland Leader
Earlier today, Senator Trent Lott (R-MS), announced that he would resign from the Senate by the end of the year. Lott, a former college cheerleader at Ole' Miss, claims that he would like to leave on a "positive note," after winning re-election last year to a leadership post and fostering legislation for rebuilding the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina. However, one can't help but wonder if there is some other reason behind the abrupt decision.
Later on Monday, a Washington D.C. blog, Big Head DC, made the claim that Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt had uncovered a connection between Lott and an openly gay male escort by the name of Benjamin Nicholas.
Nicholas so far hasn't admitted to sleeping with Lott, but he hasn't exactly denied it either. “Here’s my public comment, on-the-record: Sen. Lott and I have no current affiliation with one another. I’m sure he would appreciate no further scrutiny,” said Nicholas.
If Nicholas' name sounds familiar, there's good reason. He previously spoke out against Ted Haggard's boy toy, Mike Jones, for airing the preacher's dirty laundry and "breaking" an unwritten escort code of silence and betraying his client's right to privacy.
Considering his feelings on the Haggard situation, it makes sense that he would not publicly admit or reveal any information. It is also very curious that Big Head DC mentioned that Hustler was working on this story, especially considering that Larry Flynt promised us a new GOP gay sex scandal coming soon.
At this point it is all pure speculation, and if Hustler is in fact about to reveal Lott and some gay romps with a male escort, well we're sure to find out soon enough. But consider this: who, after spending millions of dollars seeking re-election, leaves in the middle of their term for any reason other than a scandal, health condition, or personal situation?

If true, that would be hilarious... how many self-hating, hypocrital, in the closet Neo-Cons would that make now?
Stating the obvious: If he never had anything to do with Lott, he would have come out and said exactly that.

quote: Prominent Mississippi trial attorney Richard "Dickie" Scruggs, the brother-in-law of outgoing GOP Sen. Trent Lott, was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on charges that he and four other men tried to bribe a Mississippi state court judge.
According to the 13-page indictment, Scruggs and three other attorneys -- including Lott's nephew Zach -- attempted to bribe Mississippi Third Circuit Court Judge Henry L. Lackey with at least $40,000 in cash.
Lackey was assigned to hear a lawsuit in which Scruggs' firm was named as a defendant in a dispute involving $26.5 million in attorneys' fees stemming from a court settlement with State Farm Insurance over Hurricane Katrina claims.
The indictment alleges that the bribe was intended to resolve the case in Scruggs' and his firm's favor. Also charged was Sidney A. Backstrom, an attorney at Scruggs' firm; Timothy R. Balducci, a New Albany, Miss., lawyer; and former State Auditor Steven A. Patterson, an employee of Balducci's law firm.
Neither Scruggs nor an attorney for the firm, Joey Langston, returned telephone messages seeking comment. Langston does not work at The Scruggs Law Firm.
Lott's office did not respond to a request for comment. Lott is not named in the indictment, and has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
Lott, the second-highest ranking Republican in the Senate, announced Monday he was resigning his seat after 35 years on Capitol Hill. Lott's decision to leave Congress came one year after he won re-election to his fourth term.
Scruggs, long a power player in Mississippi legal circles, rose to prominence after securing huge verdicts for plaintiffs in asbestos litigation, and from his role in brokering a multibillion dollar settlement with tobacco companies in the 1990s.
He later represented hundreds of Gulf Coast homeowners -- including Lott -- whose claims were denied by insurance companies in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Lott's home in Pascagoula was destroyed by the storm.
The case at the center of the bribery allegations involves a fee dispute between Scruggs' firm and an attorney, John Jones, who did work on behalf of Katrina plaintiffs.
According to the indictment, the five defendants met at Scruggs' Oxford, Miss. office in mid-March to discuss the scheme. On March 28, Balducci allegedly traveled to Calhoun County, Miss. to meet with the judge in order to make "an overture" to resolve the lawsuit "favorably to the defendant Richard 'Dickie' Scruggs and The Scruggs Law Firm."
The indictment says that Lackey immediately reported the bribery scheme to the FBI, and began cooperating with federal authorities.
In May, Balducci allegedly had a conversation with Lackey where he said "for over the last five or six years there, there are bodies buried that, that you know, that [Scruggs] and I know where...where are, and, and, my, my trust is his, mine in him and his i mine."
Between September 27 and November 1, Balducci allegedly made three cash payments to Lackey, returning from the last meeting with a court order favorable to the defendants.
"We paid for this ruling; let's be sure it says what we want it to say," Balducci told Zach Scruggs and Backstrom, according to the indictment.
On Tuesday FBI agents searched Scruggs' law office in Oxford, Miss., removing copies of a computer hard drive.
A statement issued by the FBI office in Jackson, Miss. said the search was "in furtherance of an ongoing investigation," according to the Associated Press.
Over the years Scruggs has given generously to the Democratic Party and its candidates. In March he donated $28,500 to the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee, according to the Center For Responsive Politics. This election cycle he has given to candidates from both parties, including Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. and Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.

quote: "There's nothing to be said, as Lott and I have no connection whatsoever," Nicholas wrote in an email to The Huffington Post. "How these 'quotes' have been fabricated are beyond me. The Senator is someone I have had no personal dealings with, ever."
In a subsequent posting on his own Web site, Nicholas wrote, "I have not, nor have I ever seen or had contact with Senator Trent Lott. It's as simple as that. It never happened."
Big Head DC's founder, Rob Capriccioso, is no stranger to allegations of sloppy sleuthing.
Earlier this month, Radar Magazine dropped Capriccioso as a freelancer after he reported that veteran newsman Sam Donaldson's phone number was in the records of infamous DC Madam Deborah Jean Palfrey.
What Capriccioso failed to note, Radar wrote in an online post, was that Palfrey insisted that the single telephone call to Donaldson had nothing to do with prostitution, and was simply a wrong number.
