I expect Favre to be traded to an AFC team. Although he could somehow be traded to an NFC team.

Thanks for the insight.

Reports are that the Packers may consider trading Favre to an NFC North team if all else fails. Also they reportedly offered him over 20 million over several years to just stay retired.

No way.

If they do that, they're done just because Favre will be pissed off.

Then again, when Favre gets pissed off, he starts to gun sling like that game against the Cowboys.

no way to them offering him money or to the nfc north part? If it comes down to trade him to the vikings or release him, they mineaswell trade him and at least get something out of it.

I listened to Jim Rome @ lunch and I think he was right. Packers and Favre...whatever comes of this, one of them's going to be playing God.

I personally think it's wrong of the Packers to try to pay Favre off. They don't want him to start over Rodgers but they also don't want him to go to another team, which is a bullshit, IMO. I don't think anything should stop a player from being able to play if they want too.

I agree

Yeah I don't get it. If you don't want him on your team, then why not just trade him? It makes no sense for them to pay him to stay retired.

20 million over 10 years is nothing to the packers. It is insulting though. The problem with trading is it doesnt seem like anyone wants to give much up because they all know that if they dont trade GB will likely have no choice but to release him.

They do have a choice. They don't have to release him.

He's under contract. They can let him stew on the bench.

He'll probably get traded.

They will end up not having a choice. They don't want the circus Favre will create when he is on the bench.

never will happen. They cant have Favre in the locker room and sitting the bench, it would cause all kinds of problems.

Probably.

But they do have a choice to do that.

I'm not saying they will, or will not but they do have a choice.

In the continuing saga of the National Favre League it appears this may be all about money. It appears Favre may take the money and stay retired. I'm sure the story will change.

Is the offering of 20 million an rumour?

Nope it is legit, or at least as legit as it will ever be without favre or the Packers coming right out and saying "we did this" 20 Million over 10 years. Also known as a bribe.

I really hope not. I mean what is 20 million over 10 years to favre? That is like giving me 20 dollars over 10 years. Id tell you to go F yourself if you were trying to bribe me with that. Even if he does stay retired I hope he tells them to shove the money up their ass. Or donate it to a local chicago youth football group or something.

So how is it legit?

🙁 Something is really off. This entire deal smells.

There is something really big we don't know about.

Again, I really have to question why there is so much media attention to this. All of the "leaks" come right out of Favre's mouth.
