yeah... for me it was a resounding... eh? Like not terrible- I like Valkyrie suddenly becoming an important character, because I dig any former Defender doing anything, in Marvel, ever. I like the Black Panther mystery.
But otherwise, it seems to stray a lot from the Ultimates original goal, and the stuff that made Mark Millar's work cool- crazy, badass, action in a real world setting. Like a Micheal Bay movie co-written by Molly Ives, only with my favorite superheroes.
This first issue just seems like some late 80s 616 Avenger's story I missed, with new art and updated dialogue and plots for the modern day. I mean- not terrible, but also not very good.
I'm willing to stick with it and see where it goes.
Although I really, really hope Wolverine doesn't become an Ultimate. Really, really hope.
Albeit, I'd kind of be okay with Ultimate Spidey joining, seeing as how if this is supposed to take a few years after the rest of the Ultimate Universe, it would make sense for Spidey to be a member- back when they were a government agency, Fury basically told Spiderman he was getting drafted.
