ESCAPE GOAT?! Hahahahaha. You mean SCAPEGOAT.
First, I don't hold anything against Adebayor for his celebration. If you're a c*nt to someone, you might get it back. Personally, I do believe that when you're paid as much to be a professional (And to play, not be banned) as he is and you're aware of what your actions may cause, you should have more forethought than to do what he did. I don't blame him for it, though.
Additionally, what's with the hypocrisy? When Henry beat all the Spurs players, ran through them like Juggernaut and scored; no Arsenal fan seemed to call him out on how he slid on his knees in front of them, after running the length of the field.
I don't think he handled his transfer rumours the best, but he's not the first or last person to do that. Fabregas comes out and tells us every week that he isn't going to Barca, yet people keep saying "Is he or not?". Wenger knows when to sell a player, so Henry left at the right time, but I still believe the fans left him feeling a little untrusted. I could be entirely wrong though, since he calls Arsenal fans family, and still has great love for the club and supporters.
The stamp was inexcusable, he allegedly slapped Song and his challenge on Fabregas wasn't far removed from Taylor's on Eduardo.
If anything, Arsenal are getting the luck they finally deserve. It would take at least a Champions League win won by diving to claim them as the new jiffmeisters.
Let's look at that win and compare it to their only two losses:
Man Utd: Outplayed them and Rooney was awarded a penalty similar or worse to Eduardo's one. 1-1 without that penalty and without taking the chances Arsenal had. Arshavin scored an amazing goal and Diaby scored Man Utd's.
Man City: Gareth Barry handballed it in the area, penalty that we never got. Adebayor shouldn't have been on the pitch, but he went on to score a goal and do at least two goalline clearances.
I doubt Arsenal can be calling jammy simply because one of the goals was contentious. Eduardo should have been there, he shouldn't have been banned.
HE didn't claim for a penalty when he went over softly (And he did), the ref did. If anything, blame the ref.
Let's be realistic; either he stays banned and everyone gets banned (Including the likes of Gerrard or Torres), or he doesn't and you use common sense.
How far do you go with "Deceiving the referee" claims? If a throw goes out off Gerrard and he claims for a throw, he's deceiving the ref. Punish him for that?
Also, how far back do you retroactively ban players? Let's go back to 2005, ban Gerrard for his Champions League dive and then give the title to A.C. Milan, considering Liverpool were losing.
Let's ban Rooney for diving for the penalty that ended Arsenal's undefeated run.

Such a good game, and Adebayor played so well, so it's a shame that he ruined that by acting like an absolute ****. Full credit to Bellamy, Wright- Phillips, De Jong et al who were superb. Suddenly, Arsenal look like they haven't progressed at all from last year, after such promise. They still need a defensive midfielder, a centre back and quite possibly a new striker too.
I fear that the title race will boil down to Man Utd and Chelsea in the end, after so much buildup, and judging by performances yesterday, it should be fascinating.
Adebayor is riding a high. That won't last. He played like that for Arsenal during his great season.
Also, how do we need a centreback? Vermaelen is already staking a claim as one of the best in the league.
