Adabayor V Arsenal:)

I don´t know what made me laugh more Adabayors stamp on Van Persie´s face, or his goal celebrations in front of the "happy" Arsenal fans . He seems to have something against his ex club🙂

What´s even more amazing is how a defensive midfielder can destroy Arsenals system so easily, and the question has to be asked "do they belong in the "top 4 " anymore?"

Such a good game, and Adebayor played so well, so it's a shame that he ruined that by acting like an absolute ****. Full credit to Bellamy, Wright- Phillips, De Jong et al who were superb. Suddenly, Arsenal look like they haven't progressed at all from last year, after such promise. They still need a defensive midfielder, a centre back and quite possibly a new striker too.
I fear that the title race will boil down to Man Utd and Chelsea in the end, after so much buildup, and judging by performances yesterday, it should be fascinating.

I agree, but Chelsea weren´t that impressive on Saturday imo.

Wayne Rooney looked well impressive against Spurs, it seems to be that he´s become a lot faster this season, or maybe the defenders were just slow🙂

i dont have a problem with his celebration, the fans booed him while he played for them and he got back at them. now the stamp on the other hand..

to be fair though if van persie connected with the two footed lunge we'd be talking about him instead, you could probably make a case that it was heat of the moment self defense. ive done shit like that before without thinking, adrenaline's flowing you dont really know what you're doing.

awesome celebration, not a fan of either arsenal or man city. but the fans did hate him at Arsenal and he just made it worse.

Thats the 1 time I would find celebrating a goal against your former club acceptable.
I never do it when I play against my old pub league team

I dont have a problem with what he did. While he played for Arsenal he was booed and disrespected many times by the fans (and im talking from personal encounters with fans who hated him). In the heat of the moment after perfoming so well against his detractors its understandable that hed want to rub it in.

I'm a huge Manchester United but I never liked Rooney but he has been playing excellent football lately <Especially when playing for the world cup qualifier matches>. I guess I will be watching more La liga now since my boy Ronaldo is gone.

Arsenal Lucky

looks like Arsenal are becoming the new "jammy gits" of the Premiere league after last nights lucky win, both goals should not have been allowed and the 3rd was scored by someone who should have been banned for cheating.

If Eudardo was banned for diving, then every player from now one should be baned as well, UEFA cant just ban Eudardo an no other player, they cant make him an escape goat and not punish nobody else for diving.

ESCAPE GOAT?! Hahahahaha. You mean SCAPEGOAT.

First, I don't hold anything against Adebayor for his celebration. If you're a c*nt to someone, you might get it back. Personally, I do believe that when you're paid as much to be a professional (And to play, not be banned) as he is and you're aware of what your actions may cause, you should have more forethought than to do what he did. I don't blame him for it, though.

Additionally, what's with the hypocrisy? When Henry beat all the Spurs players, ran through them like Juggernaut and scored; no Arsenal fan seemed to call him out on how he slid on his knees in front of them, after running the length of the field.

I don't think he handled his transfer rumours the best, but he's not the first or last person to do that. Fabregas comes out and tells us every week that he isn't going to Barca, yet people keep saying "Is he or not?". Wenger knows when to sell a player, so Henry left at the right time, but I still believe the fans left him feeling a little untrusted. I could be entirely wrong though, since he calls Arsenal fans family, and still has great love for the club and supporters.

The stamp was inexcusable, he allegedly slapped Song and his challenge on Fabregas wasn't far removed from Taylor's on Eduardo.

If anything, Arsenal are getting the luck they finally deserve. It would take at least a Champions League win won by diving to claim them as the new jiffmeisters.

Let's look at that win and compare it to their only two losses:

Man Utd: Outplayed them and Rooney was awarded a penalty similar or worse to Eduardo's one. 1-1 without that penalty and without taking the chances Arsenal had. Arshavin scored an amazing goal and Diaby scored Man Utd's.

Man City: Gareth Barry handballed it in the area, penalty that we never got. Adebayor shouldn't have been on the pitch, but he went on to score a goal and do at least two goalline clearances.

I doubt Arsenal can be calling jammy simply because one of the goals was contentious. Eduardo should have been there, he shouldn't have been banned.

HE didn't claim for a penalty when he went over softly (And he did), the ref did. If anything, blame the ref.

Let's be realistic; either he stays banned and everyone gets banned (Including the likes of Gerrard or Torres), or he doesn't and you use common sense.

How far do you go with "Deceiving the referee" claims? If a throw goes out off Gerrard and he claims for a throw, he's deceiving the ref. Punish him for that?

Also, how far back do you retroactively ban players? Let's go back to 2005, ban Gerrard for his Champions League dive and then give the title to A.C. Milan, considering Liverpool were losing.

Let's ban Rooney for diving for the penalty that ended Arsenal's undefeated run.

Adebayor is riding a high. That won't last. He played like that for Arsenal during his great season.

Also, how do we need a centreback? Vermaelen is already staking a claim as one of the best in the league.

retroactive bans will never work, the game would never end. if they opened that box of frogs they'd never close it. just think, we already have all these talking heads arguing over calls after every match, imagine if they could influence fifas decisions. matches wouldnt be 90 minutes anymore, they'd last weeks. even then who makes the decisions? there are tackles that could be argued both ways and some i still cant make my mind up on.

diving isnt something you can get out of the game with bans, it has to be a social thing. it has to be unacceptable to dive from the fans, the problem is all fans care about is winning. theres no way you can ban every player that dives in every league governed by fifa, thats crazy.

So Bic, how about Mascherano?

Will you be petitioning his ban? I mean, not only did he karate chop some guy in the back of the head and then try to explain his way out of it, but he avoided the deserved red card only to end up setting up the goal that gave Liverpool a win.

Funny.

Vela is going to be immense. Came on for Arsenal, sets up the first goal and scores the second. Can't wait to see him play for the senior side.

Violent conduct should result in a heftier ban than things like diving imo, after all its GBH and normal people get jailed for that.

It is weird that Eduardo was up for a ban when so many other players in the world dive as well. Maybe someone up there doesn´t like him or Arsenal.

Because there's massive media bias against Arsenal, always has been.

C.Ron is the only person who has been under transfer rumours as persistent as Cesc Fabregas, and he hasn't even been as wishy-washy about it as C.Ron.

-AC

I agree there is a bias against Arsenal.
But why and where does this media bias come from, there must be a reason for it.

I've no idea.

There is clear biased toward Man Utd and Chelsea. The F.A. a lot of the time, seem scared to touch them. The B.B.C. pundits won't say a word against any of England's "big" players.

When Rooney dived against Arsenal, and whenever Gerrard dives, they turn a blind eye. Yet the commentators brought up Eduardo's "dive" for no reason.

It's also this "Arsenal need to win something fast.". Where is that criticism for Liverpool? They haven't won the main trophy for 20 years, we've won it multiple times. In fact, we made history making it by doing it unbeaten.

The Bias towards Man u and Chelsea is so obvious especially in the chamions league. On the radio news they sometimes only give the results of their games and don´t mention other English teams!!

I woulnd´t say there´s a positive bias towards Liverpool though, the media and FA seem to be willing Man U on to beat Liverpool´s title´s record.

But the Arsenal thing goes back a long way, I remember when they went all out on Tony Adams after his alcohol problem. His "donkey" theme was all over the press. Not to mention the negativeness against George Graham, even before the Hauge affair.

I think its political, right up top some people turn the rudder in certain directions to suit their interests. Or the favourited teams have freemason connections, may sound daft but who knows.

Perhaps that's because we've gone trophy-less for 4 years. Meh, political BS is BS.

What´s this I heard, no English channels are going to be showing the Ukraine game, because England are already through & its not worth paying the fee´s for?? CRAZY.

The Russia Germany game should be interesting on astro turf, this fixture got England kicked out of the European nation cup🙂
