I just bought Daredevil : Father in trade. Excellent read, I highly recommend it. I don't like the way Daredevil is drawn but Quesada's art generally is pretty good yes

Sinestro corps 1 was the best comic that came out in July. Amazing Spiderman is also worthy of a mention

Trials of Shazam seems to be heating up.... I'm also still glued to The Hulk, I've been watching as the story unfolds since he was launched out in space. Can't wait for more on the Thor story, will he register???

I just read Daredevil #100. Nice storyline for an anniversary addition although I didn't like the huge number of artistic styles for one issue. Brubaker rocks at writing street level comics.

Read Cap #30. This is still my favourite comic book series by far. The art, characterisation and plot is nothing short of spectacularly entertaining every issue. The only comics I have read which I prefer to this are the Ultimates yes nuff said.

I just read Green Lantern #23. loving Sinestro corps stuff. Art is great. I have only recently got into green lantern and so it may be unwarranted that I'm surprised by the idea of something like an antithesis on the GL corps, why has someone not thought of this before now? Regardless, the art and plot are excellent.

I bought the trade of Fantastic Four the end. Overall a great read. The plot was great, Alan Davis's art never fails to impress me and him and Jim lee are probably my favourite comic book artists. The storyline was good although I felt there could have been more interaction with the FF earlier on, they kind of only got together in the last 1/4 of the story. Nonetheless a highly entertaining read. I recommend it.

I also bought the trade of Uncanny X-men: the rise and Fall of the shi'ar empire. I have read a few online reviews of this arc and most hated it, few liked it. I personally thought it was pretty good. I didn't think that the whole storyline needed to take 12 issues or that some of the cliffhangers to end an issue were as good as some of the revelations that occurred halfway through an issue. ( For example, one issue ends with Darwin simply saying "Oh No." whilst halfway through a later issue a character is killed off.) I loved the art. The plot moved at a slow pace and picked up towards the end but even at the slow moments, it was still a good read IMO.

The freak in me thoroughly enjoyed the new release, "How to be a Serial Killer":

(please log in to view the image)

quote:
A man is trapped in a terrible job, lives a lonely life, and cannot see any shred of value in his existence. That is, however, until he discover the joys of serial murder and undergoes a major transformation by embarking on a new journey of violence and mayhem. Join Mike Wilson in his unique process of self-discovery and take a glimpse at the moment where a man crosses an evolutionary threshold, transporting him from a life of quiet desperation, to a life of predatory bliss.

... and just so you know, the people this guy kills have it coming in many ways - well.... some of them, at least.

It's likable in a "Dexter" sort of way.
