undeveloped or old

Loney, Kemp, Ethier are the future of that lineup but it takes time to be a big time MLB hitter.

And then you have Kent and while he is productive he is probably the second worst cleanup hitter in the league (next to bengie molina) and then you got Jones who seems to just be washed up. Good thing they have a pretty strong rotation with Penny, Kuroda, Billingsley, and Lowe

Or you can face Matt Belisle and Josh Fogg for instant success.

So has any team ever had Back to back to back MVP's with no repeats? Granted it is early and DWright is stiff competition but Utley is looking like a freak right now.

Hmm...closest I could find is this. It repeats, but it was a hell of a decade for the reds.

1978 Dave Parker Pittsburgh OF
1977 George Foster Cincinnati OF
1976 Joe Morgan Cincinnati 2B
1975 Joe Morgan Cincinnati 2B

1974 Steve Garvey Los Angeles 1B
1973 Pete Rose Cincinnati OF
1972 Johnny Bench Cincinnati C

1971 Joe Torre St. Louis 3B
1970 Johnny Bench Cincinnati C

Edit: Also found these...

1940 Frank McCormick Cincinnati 1B
1939 Bucky Walters Cincinnati P
1938 Ernie Lombardi Cincinnati C

1944 Marty Marion St. Louis SS
1943 Stan Musial St. Louis OF
1942 Mort Cooper St. Louis P

1943 Spud Chandler New York P
1942 Joe Gordon New York 2B
1941 Joe DiMaggio New York OF

1963 Elston Howard New York C
1962 Mickey Mantle New York OF
1961 Roger Maris New York OF
1960 Roger Maris New York OF

yea that was a nice time for the reds 6 mvp's in 8 years.

So it has happened but it has definitely been a while.

It will definately make a great story if Utley wins MVP. The Phillies are probably my second favorite NL team, so I would like to see it happen.

Reds Fire Wayne Krivsky and give Walt Jockety the Job. Not sure jhow I feel, I liked WK, but Jockety has a lot of experience and GM'd a very good Cardinals team. I just hope he doesn't trade our prospects away in a win now fashion...

Man watching Sports Center... Jason werth's mom can be on my fantasy team any time.

😂 Well the most suprising team this year, in my opinion, is the D-Backs..

Im not too shocked by them. The offense is off to a hotter start than I would have expected but theres a lot of young talented guys theres and their rotation is great so they should only get better as the year goes on.

Nice to see Arroyo actually earn his paycheck for the first time this year...Reds win 3 in a row.

Yeah, I expected the D'Backs to win the division behind Webb, Haren and the Big Unit... but I didn't expect them to dominate like this. The scary thing is their offense is only going to get better, plus Max Scherzer is going to make his MLB debut, and his stuff is nasty. They should be the one seed for the playoffs.

I wish Zito would earn his f***** paycheck.

That really sucks for Zito. He has one of the most nastiest curve in the game...and now demoted. ermm

Man, I dont feel bad.

He did get one of the highest contracts for a pitcher.

I'm thinking he's doing all right in his gold plated mansion.

I always find it humorous when players complain about the lack of playing time, or that they start to suck when the make over an 100 million dollars.

If my work told me to not show up to work, but they will still pay me, I would be in heaven.

Dang it, I dropped Votto from my fantasy team about a week ago, and he goes and hits three homers. I'd pick him up, but I've got Kotchman too. Who do you think will be better?

Kotchman and Votto are very similar. I'd keep Kotchman simply because he'll have a better OBP and more RBI chances with the Angels.

Rays are unbelievable!

20-5 Phillies beat the Rockies. Very Nice.

The whole situation with the Mets is hilarious. And the Rays and Marlins both in first place in their leagues is crazy, but that is only because the Marlins haven't played the Phillies yet. 😛

No surprise the Dodgers wasted money on Andruw Jones.
