I'm looking forward to the spin ESPN and NBA "experts" are going to put on Cleveland's performances.
How about someone just say the truth; Cleveland is a one man show. Shaq and Z are slow, Mo is streaky and the rest are pretty average or less than.
I mean, Shaq is going to have limited minutes. He's old and lumbering. Sure he can put up a high percentage and still be a presence inside, but he's inconsistent once his minutes rack up. He'll probably play half the games this season and avg. 20-30 minutes at best. Not only that, but he slows the pace of the game and clogs the lane. This is counter productive to Lebron's style.
I'm certain Bron-Bron is going to take a serious look at the market once this season is over and Shaq just might retire.
And while I'm on Cavs, Boston looks good so far, but I think as the season progresses, they'll lose some of that swagger. They are elite for sure, but as it's been said, "if they're healthy."
Garnett is who I'll be looking at the most. I don't think he's 100% and I'm curious if he can return to his prime form and be as dominant as he was before the injury. And while they brought in Wallace who is tough and talented, he too, is old. It's not like only one or two guys are out there in their thirty's; as a starter, no less. Seriously, that cane that the Irish guy is holding in their logo is too fitting.
That being said, the flip side is they do have a lot of experience and they are going to be very tough team to beat for anyone. They are die hard and I have a lot of respect for them (not that I like anyone on that team besides Pierce and Allen).
But even the young guys are giving cause for pause.
Rondo ain't happy with his current contract and he wants more, while Glenn got into an altercation with a childhood bf, which led to a broken thumb (over a woman, tsk tsk) which has sidelined him for who knows when. And the staff ain't none too happy with him for being a "big baby".
All this and ESPN and NBA critics have the Magic 3rd? Being second to LA I can understand, but 3rd or 4th to Lebron or the Celtics? You'd think being EC champs would garner them some respect, apparently not enough.
The Magic improved and at worst stayed the same. Meer is bigger than years past which will help his chances to stay healthy. Dwight didn't improve his FT's, but his post game is a bit better. He passes the ball out a lot quicker and his reaction time has shown mark improvements. They got VC. Say what you will about the man, he still an elite player that can create his own shot. And he's never been on a real contender that has players that can share the load. Their bench is deep and boy are they good. Anderson and Bass in particular are perfect fits and J-Will has slowly become a nice surprise. Shard isn't even allowed to play for the first 10, but I almost forgot he wasn't there tonight. When he returns, just one more weapon for the Magic.
Folks need to stop taking pills for sleep and start taking them for lunacy.
Whooo... Man, been waiting to say that for a while. Season just started and I'm already fired up. Can ya tell I've been waiting for the it to start? 😂
